"The service was friendly and transparent. When the price on the invoice was different from my original quote, the plumber took it upon himself to call the office and get approval to honor the original price. I will definitely be calling Goodfellas again."

Limited Funding. First Come, First Served.

Colorado received a fixed amount of federal funding. When it's gone, it's gone. If your system is 15+ years old, now is the time to act while the government is offering to help.

Common Questions

What exactly is this rebate program?

The Colorado Home Energy Rebate Program is a state-run initiative funded by the federal Inflation Reduction Act. It provides rebates to Colorado homeowners who install high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment. The goal is to help families save money on energy bills while reducing emissions.

How do I know if I qualify?

Eligibility is based on your household income relative to your county's Area Median Income (AMI). Households below 80% AMI can receive rebates covering up to 100% of project costs. Those between 80-150% AMI can receive rebates covering up to 50% of project costs—but the maximum rebate amounts are the same for both groups. The easiest way to find out is to use our chat assistant—in about 5 minutes, we'll verify your eligibility and show you exactly what rebates apply to your situation.

I'm on Social Security / fixed income. Do I qualify?

Very likely yes. Households on Social Security or fixed incomes often qualify for the highest tier of rebates—up to 100% of project costs covered. The program is specifically designed to help people who can't afford to replace aging equipment out of pocket. Your Social Security income is what gets compared to the income threshold, and most retirees fall well within the qualifying range.

My furnace still works. Should I wait until it breaks?

We'd actually recommend the opposite. If your furnace is 15–25 years old, it's running at a fraction of its original efficiency—costing you more every month. Older systems can also develop safety issues like cracked heat exchangers. This program lets you replace it now while the government covers most or all of the cost, rather than waiting until it breaks in the middle of winter and paying full price for an emergency replacement.

Do I have to pay anything upfront?

The rebate is applied directly to your project cost—you don't have to pay full price and wait for reimbursement. Depending on your eligibility and the scope of work, you may pay little to nothing out of pocket. Once you qualify through our chat, we'll schedule a visit to give you a clear breakdown so there are no surprises.

Why should I use GoodFellas instead of another contractor?

We're one of just 82 HVAC contractors in Colorado approved to offer HEAR rebates — less than 5% of companies qualify. That means we can process your rebates directly—most contractors can't do this yet. We've been serving Colorado families since 2013 with over 429 five-star reviews. Many of our customers are retirees and homeowners on fixed incomes—we understand the importance of getting this right. We're also an Xcel Energy trade partner, so we know how to stack utility rebates on top of state rebates to maximize your savings. And we handle all the paperwork.

How long does the process take?

From consultation to installation typically takes 2-4 weeks, depending on equipment availability and scheduling. The rebate approval process is handled alongside your project, so there's no long wait for reimbursement—the discount is applied to your invoice.
